Anyone interested in taking this class, please use the contact form or contact Mark or Andrechelle Cermak  at 440-296-9322

Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician - CMTCMT: (2 day course) The Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician course teaches fundamentals of carpet cleaning and entry-level commercial carpet cleaning techniques to individuals engaged in the maintenance of commercial facilities. Topics include fiber types and characteristics, fiber identification, carpet construction and styles, dyeing at the mill, soil characteristics and the chemistry of cleaning. This course will also introduce the technician to the 5 methods commonly used in carpet cleaning.

In addition to the basics of carpet construction, emphasis will be placed on teaching IICRC S100 carpet cleaning methodologies, safety procedures, and pro-active techniques to individuals who will perform these procedures in the field. Course graduates will have a basic understanding of the importance of preventative, interim, restorative and salvage cleaning and how they contribute to the overall success of the commercial carpet maintenance program.

The differences between the CCT and CMT courses are, basically, a focus on either general or residential versus commercial applications.

SummerFest XI – Oct 1-3 2009

Monday, October 5th, 2009

The eleventh annual SummerFest gathering was held Oct 1-3 2009 in Norcross Georgia with some events in Dalton GA.

Bruce DeLoatch of TCS / Cleaners Coach taught a Odor Control Technicians course (IICRC OCT) to a classroom full of eager students.

An informative and educational tour of Shaw Carpet’s R&D facilty and PTL (Professional Testing Lab) in Dalton Georgia.

The annual Friday Night Banquet was a little different this year. Due to the flooding in Atlanta this summer, our scheduled caterer was not able to fulfull the contract. We were fortunate that the best restaurant (Dominics Italian) in Norcross could accomodate our group. Best “banquet” food at a SummerFest yet.

This year’s winners of SummerFest awards for participation and dedication to bettering the industry and helping make SummerFest a success are:

  • 2009 Man of the Year – Ades Gros
  • 2009 Woman of the Year – Lisa Weber
  • 2009 Carpet Cleaner of the Year – Thomas Cermak

Saturday at TCS everyone enjoyed the friendly competition for the 2009 SpotMaster Championship title. This year’s SpotMaster Champions are
Thomas Cermak (Dries in Minutes Carpet Cleaning Kennesaw GA) and Al Sims (Al’s Absolute Best Cleaning & Restoration Colchester CT)

Informative presentations by Thomas Cermak on networking, Bruce DeLoatch on trust, Paul Pearce introducing new IICRC President Patrick Winters were all highlights of Saturdays events.

Saturday Demos at SummerFest had equipment, products and methods on display with time for in depth, hands on experience. Featuring several different wands and powered cleaning tools, truckmounts, portables, oscillating pad machines, rug duster, complete rug cleaning pit set up and a centrifuge dry dryer.
Great speakers, presentations and tours, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

Special thanks go out to the Summerfest Committee who put this awesome event together every year, but especially Bruce and Joanna DeLoatch, TCS – Truckmounts & Cleaning Solutions, Shaw Carpet, and PTL for your hospitality and generosity.
Thanks also to all who participated and made this event so terrific.

Hope to see you all next year!

SummerFest X July 24-26 2008

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

The
tenth annual SummerFest was held July 24-26 in Muskegon MI with some events in Grand Rapids MI. A full schedule of activities kept everyone busy but not rushed.
Each year is better than the last and this year was certainly no exception.

Paul Lucas of ChemMax taught a CCT course at a very special SummerFest rate for attendees.

Two days at Nathan Koets rug Plant (Advanced Restoration) for in depth, hands on rug cleaning demonstrations, tips and training.

An impressive tour of Scott Group Custom Carpet Mill where they make custom wool, silk, and cashmere carpets and rugs for the airline and marine industries as well as residential and commercial carpets and rugs. Following the custom carpets from design to the art of hand tufting, to completion was an incredible experience, not easily put into words.

Informative presentations by Shaw’s Cary Mitchell on encapsulation cleaning, Ruth Travis on the IICRC, and Paul Lucas on the history of soap / detergent were also highlights of this years event.

The annual Friday night banquet was packed. Everyone went home with at least one door prize, as well as a roll of Sticky Tabs, a gallon of VacAway and a SummerFest shirt. Grand prize was a 14” Greenhorn wand, winner George Farnworth of Quality Carpet Care Mentor OH.

This
year’s winners of SummerFest awards for participation and dedication to
bettering the industry and helping make SummerFest a success are:

2008 Man of the Year – K. Mark Kling.

2008 Woman of the Year – Ruth Travis.

Saturday at DSC everyone enjoyed the friendly competition for the 2008 SpotMaster Championship title. This year’s SpotMaster Champions are Jerry Szpak (Commercial Carpet Care Redford MI) and Jerry McMahon (Hawkeye Carpet Care Fort Dodge IA).
Jerry Szpak also the lucky winner of the Rug Badger raffle to help an orphanage in India.

After the tour of DSC Laboratories to see how cleaning products are designed and blended and a spectacular authentic Polish food lunch buffet, DSC shuttled all the attendees to the marina and took everyone sailing.

All three days had equipment, products and methods on display with time for in depth, hands on training.

Great speakers, presentations and tours, the (no suit and tie) atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

Special thanks go out to Mark and Andrechelle Cermak and the SummerFest Committee who put this awesome event together, Scott’s Group, Paul Lucas, Nathan and the Koets’ family, DSC and Mark and the Kling family for your hospitality and generosity.
Thanks also to all who participated and made this event so terrific.

Hope to see you all next year!
